Sally, You Will Never Walk Alone

Our prayer and meditation for Sally's healing today comes from another excerpt from Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence by Sarah Young.

GIVE YOURSELF FULLY to the adventure of today. Walk boldly along the path of Life, relying on your ever-present Companion. You have every reason to be confident, because My Presence accompanies you all the days of your life - and onward into eternity. Do not give in to fear or worry, those robbers of abundant living. Trust Me enough to face problems as they come, rather than trying to anticipate them. Fix your eyes on Me, the Author and Perfecter of your faith, and many difficulties on the road ahead will vanish before you reach them. Whenever you start to feel afraid, remember that I am holding you by your right hand. Nothing can separate you from My Presence.

We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish. He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the Joy he knew would be his afterwards. Now, he is seated in the place of highest honor beside God's throne in heaven. Hebrews 12:2

Behold, I come to you in the thick cloud

Our prayer and meditation this morning comes from Hope for Each Day by Billy Graham.
They looked . . . and behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.
 Exodus 16:10

Without the clouds we wouldn’t be shielded from the burning sun. Without the clouds there would be no lavish sunsets, no beneficial rain, no beautiful landscapes.

The same is true with life’s clouds. When hard times come we easily get discouraged. But behind the clouds God is still present, and can even use them to water our souls with unexpected blessings. Longfellow once wrote: “Be still, sad heart, and cease repining; behind the clouds is the sun still shining.”

As God’s people wandered in the wilderness. He declared,  Behold, I come to you in the thick cloud. Exodus 19:9

Each of us experiences clouds in life—sometimes slight, but sometimes dark and frightening. Whatever clouds you face today, ask Jesus, the light of the world, to help you look behind the clouds to see His glory and His plans for you.

Prayer for Meditation

Dear Heavenly Father, help Sally to look beyond the clouds today and see the plans you have for her; the plans to prosper and not to harm; the plans to give hope and a future. In Your Name, we pray. Amen

Swing Low Sweet Chariot

As we pray and meditate over Sally's healing this morning, I offer this excerpt from Praying Through Cancer by Susan Sorensen.



He who dwells in the shelter of the Most high 
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1


Hannah Whitall Smith, in her classic book A Christian's Secret to a Happy Life, said trials are "God's chariots sent to take the soul to its high places of triumph." She encouraged, "When your trial comes, then, put it right into the will of God, and climb into that will as a child climbs into its mother's arms. The baby carried in the chariot of its mother's arms rides triumphantly though the hardest places, and does not even know they are hard. And how much more we who are carried in the chariot of the the 'arms of God!'"

I was reminded of this on the morning of my mastectomy. The entire way to the operating room a tall, strong orderly sang many of the great Christian hymns as he navigated my gurney through the hallways. I might have believed him to be an angel, but everyone seemed to know him as he walked by. His voice and message were beautiful. I truly felt I was in God's chariot all the way to surgery. I had climbed in, and my loving Father was reminding me of all His great promises as we rode on our way.


Prayer for Meditation

I praise You, heavenly Father. Though sin separated me from You, You grabbed hold of me and made me Your child. I praise You, Jesus, for taking my place on the cross and being the bridge to this wonderful, eternal relationship. How awesome it is to be loved so completely.

Thank you for allowing me to climb into Your arms. I can let go and let You hold me through this ride down a path that is unknown. Help me to trust You so completely that I don't even know the rocky places are hard.

Praise You for Your promise to work all things, even the bad things, for good for those who love You and are called according to your purpose. All I need to do is give my needs, desires, and wants to You, my faithful and loving Father, the God in whom I trust!

Watch for the unexpected blessings - gifts the Lord desires to give you during this journey.

What A Friend We Have In Jesus

As we pray and meditate over Sally's healing this morning, let us lift her up to the Lord Jesus asking that He take her fear, anxiety, and worry over next week's procedures, and that He prepare our hearts and minds for our hour of prayer and meditation on Sunday, May 1 at 6:00 p.m. EST. 

This morning we continue in our series of prayers fron Jesus Calling: Enjoing Peace in His Presence by Sarah Young. 

Let me prepare you for the day that stretches out before you. I know exactly what this day will contain, whereas you have only vague ideas about it. You would like to see a map, showing all the twists and turns of your journey. You'd feel more prepared if you could somehow visualize what is on the road ahead. However, there is a better way to be prepared for whatever you will encounter today. Spend quality time with Me.

I will not show you what is on the road ahead, but I will thoroughly equip you for the journey. My living Presence is your Companion each step of the way. Stay in continual communication with Me, whispering My Name whenever you need to redirect your thoughts.  Thus you can walk through this day with your focus on Me. My abiding Presense is the best road map available.

So do not fear, for I am with you




Today’s prayer for Sally’s healing comes from Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence by Sarah Young.

When you bring Me prayer requests, lay out your comments before Me. Speak to Me candidly; pour out your heart. Then thank Me for the answers that I have set into motion long before you can discern results. When your requests come to mind again, continue to thank Me for the answers that are on the way. If you keep on stating your concerns to Me, you will live in a state of tension. When you thank Me for how I am answering your prayers, your mind-set becomes much more positive. Thankful prayers keep your focus on My Presence and My promises.

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear or be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, he is

The One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6

The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life;

This morning’s prayer and meditation for Sally’s healing are excerpted from Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in his Presence by Sarah Young.

I am able to do far beyond all that you ask or imagine. Come to Me with positive expectations, knowing that there is no limit to what I can accomplish. Ask My Spirit to control your mind, so that you can think great thoughts of Me. Do not be discouraged by the fact that many of your prayers are yet unanswered. Time is a trainer, teaching you to wait upon Me, to trust Me in the dark. The more extreme your circumstances, the more likely you are to see My Power and Glory at work in the situation. Instead of letting difficulties draw you into worrying, try to view them as setting the scene for My glorious intervention. Keep your eyes and your mind wide open to all that I am doing in your life.

Love So Amazing, So Divine

This is a reprint of Angela's comment to a previous post.

Dearest Sally,

This is my first time to visit this special site. I spent a few minutes exploring it before beginning my note. I spent a few minutes listening to The Prayer with Celine Dion and Josh Groban, which I couldn't finish with dry eyes. Now it is almost midnight and you should be asleep. I pray you are, and that you are resting well. I pray all of you are. I know you are all so weary and I grieve for you as passionately as I wish I could take this from you. Every day I cry out to God to "Just DO it, Lord! We know you CAN ...show us you WILL ... just DO it ... give your divine healing ...."

I know God has a plan for everything but I pray His plan for you reflects my prayer for you, and He will take this cancer from you. I pray He will wash your body clean, restoring you with strength and good health. I pray He will renew your spirit. I LONG to give Him glory for all He will do in you, dear Sally!In Psalm 30 the psalmist wrote "Hear, O LORD, and be merciful to me; O LORD, be my help. You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever." It is my prayer for you tonight, that your weary and broken body will be transformed by the Great Physician's perfect touch and you will be clothed with uncontainable joy. Transformed in a moment.

We will love and praise Him forever, no matter what - His plan for each of us will forever be greater than our own, of course - but the petition tonight and every night is simple and persistent ... Lord God our Father, our Helper, our Hope, we implore you ... Just do it. Turn your face to this child, reach down from heaven on high, and just do it. Please, dear Lord, just do it. I love you Sally, and continue to intercede for you faithfully.

Having faith the size of a mustard seed


Dear Sally this is Monte,

Just wanted to say that the West coast is representing, by being prayer warriors for you.

Matthew 17:20 says if you have the faith of a mustard seed, you could tell this mountain to move from here to there and it will move. I also recently found out a little info about mustard seeds. 

Did you know they are one of the strongest seeds on this planet.  They are super tiny, if you have never seen one, yet in their small stature they are on of the toughest.  Anyway, this is a verse I try to live by and my hope is it gives you a bit of inspiration. 

God is good, he really is, and the Jones family will continue to pray for you and your family.  You are an inspiration to us, and hope we can be an inspiration to you.  We love you very much.

Dear Sally,

We are happy to hear you were released from the hospital yesterday. Your Prayer Warriors have held virtual hands and prayed during your hospital stay, and we will continue as you undergo more procedures.

This morning's meditation comes from Max Lucado's book FEARLESS.

I wonder if the disciples ever reflected on the most-often repeated phrases of Christ. If so, they would have noted: "he was always calling us to courage."

So don't be afraid. You are worth much more than many sparrows. (Mt. 10:31 NCV)

Take courage, son, your sins are forgiven. (Matthew 9:2 NASB)

Don't worry about everyday life-whether you have enough . . . (Matthew 6:25)
