“Wherever you are, God is there,” Mama always said, “He’ll meet you wherever you are.”

~~Ronda Rich

This morning’s prayer and meditation for Sally’s healing comes from Take Heart, Oh God: Riches from the Greatest Christian Women Writers of All Time.
What did your mama always say? Or your grandmother? Or that teacher who inspired you? If you’re lucky, someone along your journey took the time to impart his or her wisdom to you.
Rhonda Rich’s mom wanted her to remember that wherever she went, God was there. It sounds almost mundane until we think about it.
In the days of joy and thankfulness, God is here. In the time of sorrow and grief, God is there. When worry assails us, God is there. When temptation entices us, God is there. When uncertainty tears us apart, God is there.
The Great I Am is rejoicing, sorrowing, comforting, guiding, strengthening. He is walking with you. He is willing to carry the burden when it gets too heavy.
Do you need him today, but feel you need to “get in a better place” first? No matter what your circumstances, he’ll meet you wherever you are.
Prayer for Meditation
Thank you that wherever I am, Lord, you are there.
Scripture for Meditation
The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand. Psalm 37:23-24

Where are you? Did you choose this place?

For all those dark times, here’s a word of hope:
God meets us where we are. Even if we aren’t looking his direction,
he is always looking in ours.

~~Liz Curtis Higgs

This morning’s prayer and meditation for Sally’s healing comes from Take Heart, Oh God: Riches from the Greatest Christian Women Writers of All Time.
Where are you? Did you choose this place? In the dark night of your soul, you are immersed in darkness as black as ink. You can’t see your own hand in front of your face. You grope your way through, but you feel lost, as if in a black hole. You walk with your arms out, slowly turning around. Your legs bump into something, a table. You feel the cloth and . . . a stick? Wait, it’s a candle. And matches. The tiny light fills the room, bringing warmth and peace.
Now you can see.
And God was there all the time. In the darkness, he was there. You didn’t feel him; you didn’t see him. But now you know that he was there all along.
No darkness is so deep that God is not there. Hold onto that hope, beloved. Light the candle and see.
Prayer for Meditation
God, I trust that even in my darkness, you are with me.
Scripture for Meditation
Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12

Jesus Will Meet You There

This morning’s prayer and meditation for Sally’s healing comes from Moments of Peace for the morning: Inspirational Thoughts and Prayers to begin Your Day.
Last night you may have had issues that weighed your heart down with sorrow. Yet this morning, God is working to bring you joy.
Mourning and dancing—two responses that are staggeringly different. But God easily alters circumstances that seem hopeless into great reasons for rejoicing
As quickly as God turns night into day, he can change your situation. He can transform your sorrow into jubilation and your cries of pain into hoots of happiness.
What is it that looks dark to you at this moment? Fear not. In just a little while, you will be praising him for turning your wailing into dancing.
Prayer for Meditation
Dear God, Oh, God—let it be so. You know why I cry, and what would make me dance. May your wonderful, transforming favor shine on me. Amen.
Scripture for Meditation
You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy. Psalm 30:11
Sing to the Lord, you saints of his; praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. Psalm 30:4-5
