When God looks at us, his eyes sparkle

The place which Jesus takes in our soul he will nevermore vacate, for in us is his home of homes, and it is the greatest delight for him to dwell there.
~~Julian of Norwich

This morning’s prayer and meditation for Sally’s healing comes from Take Heart, Oh God: Riches from the Greatest Christian Women Writers of All Time.
When was the last time you felt the emotion of sheer delight? An unexpected snowfall? A smile from a chubby newborn?
Delight. When God looks at us, his eyes sparkle. He willingly takes up residence in our lives, delighting to dwell with us. He will never leave us no matter our spiritual or physical condition. He sees something in us that we cannot. He sees the eternal and we only the temporal. He’s in it for the long haul. He delights in the long journey of life. He promises never to vacate. He’s here to stay.
Pure delight. God loves you so much that he looks around at the angels, points at you, and says, “Can you believe how wonderful my child is?” The God of the universe smiles at the very thought of you.
Take delight in who you are, who he created you to be.
Prayer for Meditation
Lord, thank you for delighting in me.
Scripture for Meditation – Psalm 149:4-5
For the Lord delights in his people;
He crowns the humble with victory.
Let the faithful rejoice that he honors them.
Let them sing for you as they lie on their beds.
