Thanks for loving us equally. Help me to model that type of love, Lord.

I feel that it is better to continue to try to teach or live equality and love
than it would be to have hatred or prejudice.

~~Rosa Parks

This morning’s prayer and meditation for Sally’s healing comes from Take Heart, Oh God: Riches from the Greatest Christian Women Writers of All Time.
God is an amazing Creator. He could have made all people to look exactly alike, but he chose to build variety into humanity. Whether our differences are eye and hair color, or whether our skin is a different shade, God says we are all his children.
Rosa Parks is famous for standing up for equality. She built her convictions based on her Bible, which taught her that all people are equal in God’s sight. We are called to live knowing we’re all God’s children. He wants his people to teach and live equality and peace, not prejudice and hatred. We reach across racial barriers with the love of Jesus. He breaks down the divisions.
No matter what the color of our skin, we are all saved the same way—by the red blood of Jesus. The ground is level at the foot of this cross.
