God gives us his light in an instant, allowing us to know all that we need to know. No more is given to us than is necessary in his plan to lead up to perfection

When we’re lost or confused, we want to know now—right now—how to find our way toward our destination or toward understanding. No one likes that feeling of helpless floundering about, especially in dark places!
Isn’t it great to now that God freely gives us the understanding we crave? However, as Catherine explains, he doesn’t show us every step of the path. He gives us just enough light to take the next step in his plan. Sometimes we grow frustrated with this process, impatient to know the whole story all at once. Yet if he told us everything about every bend in the road, we would never pray or realize our dependence on him;
Just enough light. That’s all you really need.
Prayer for Meditation
Holy Spirit, please give me the understanding I need for the situation I’m facing now.
Scripture for Meditation
Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place—until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines in your hearts. 2 Peter 1:19
