Sometimes the pasture isn't greener over the septic tank

If God wants you in the place you are right now, then there are no greener pastures.

~~Stormie Omartian

This morning’s prayer and meditation for Sally’s healing comes from Take Heart, Oh God: Riches from the Greatest Christian Women Writers of All Time.
Sometimes we wonder if we are where God wants us.
Circumstances seem to go from bad to worse. We struggle. We look across the nearby fence to greener pastures and sigh. If only God would send us over there.
Problem is, sometimes the pasture isn’t greener over the septic tank. In other words, what looks greener from where you sit right now may not be the best place for you.
Consider what Stormie Omartian suggests: If God wants you where you are right now, there are no greener pastures—there is no better place for you to be. You may be in a solitary place with God as your only companion. You may be on a journey to freedom from a besetting sin. You may be among the unemployed, or in a hospital bed.
Wherever you are right now, Jesus knows your needs. And he has you right where he wants you. Trust his reputation for taking care of his sheep.
Prayer for Meditation
Lord, I’m so glad you are my shepherd. I will trust in you today.
Scripture for Meditation
Yes, I will give them good pastureland on the high hills of Israel. There they will lie down in pleasant places and feed in lush mountain pastures. Ezekiel 34:14

Music for Meditation

Psalm 23
