Lord, keep my eyes on you and what you have done . . .

If I take offense easily; if I am content to continue in cold unfriendliness, though friendship be possible, then I know nothing of Calvary’s love.

~~Amy Carmichael

This morning’s prayer and meditation for Sally’s healing comes from Take Heart, Oh God: Riches from the Greatest Christian Women Writers of All Time.
Our feelings get hurt easily when we forget about God’s big love for us. When others’ sins and offenses become our focus, we have lost our correct focus as believers. As daughters of God, our attention is to be on him and what he has done for us, not on others and how they hurt us. We must remember that when we did not deserve it, Christ chose not only to forgive us of all our sin but also to declare us righteous.

Amy Carmichael points out that we know nothing of Calvary’s love if we accept the forgiveness of Christ but then refuse to forgive others. When our cups are full of Christ’s forgiveness, we are able to spill that grace onto the people in our lives. As we become full of God’s great grace for us, we can overflow with unconditional love for other.
Prayer for Meditation
Lord, keep my eyes on you and what you have done, not on others and what they have done to me.

Scripture for Meditation
Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32
