This morning’s prayer and meditation for Sally’s healing comes from Take Heart, Oh God: Riches from the Greatest Christian Women Writers of All Time.

Have you ever prayed specifically about a certain situation, perhaps for several years, but then the opposite happened? It can be devastating, especially if the request was right and good. At those times we might cry, “God, how could you let this happen? I thought you were on my side!”

But we can be sure he has not left us. We may feel like he switched teams, but the reality is, he doesn’t come in and take sides.

As Beth Moore described it, he comes in to take over. As our faith is challenged, we learn to acknowledge that God’s plans are always better than ours. As we watch situations unfold, we learn to trust that God has the bigger picture.

It’s not easy, this issue of trust. But with God, it’s the only way. Trust him enough to let him take over.
