Come to him, child. Your Father loves you

When she heard the words, “Our Father,” she closed her eyes . . . and joined her voice softly with the rest. Somehow it seemed to connect her safety with “our Father, “and she felt a stronger faith than her in her prayer.

This morning’s prayer and meditation for Sally’s healing comes from Take Heart, Oh God: Riches from the Greatest Christian Women Writers of All Time.
What kind of father did you know from childhood? Was he the silent dad who watched you grow-up from the sideline? Maybe he was a dad who you were never able to please. Or was he the type who delighted in you no matter what? Maybe he was the absent dad, never there when you needed him most.
Memories of our earthly fathers tend toward either treasured moments or painful scars. No matter what your paternal experience has been, your heavenly Father invites you with open arms to climb onto his lap and call him “Daddy.”
He is a Father who is always near at hand, who is always ready to listen, who offers us the wisest advice, and who loves us dearly and patiently.
Come to him, child. Your Father loves you.
Prayer for Meditation
Father, Daddy, Thank you for your constant presence and love.
Scripture for Meditation
So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15
