You didn't see it coming

The more I am spiritually exercised, the more strength I have to cope with the sudden stresses brought about by adverse circumstances or attacks from the enemy.
~~Evelyn Christenson
This morning’s prayer and meditation for Sally’s healing comes from Take Heart, Oh God: Riches from the Greatest Christian Women Writers of All Time.
You didn’t see it coming. The enemy thinks a blindside attack will knock you down. A wave of exhaustion consumes you. You retreat to bed and pull the covers over your head so no one can hear you whimper. The enemy thinks you’re defeated.
Though you are reeling, your mind becomes strong with deposits of God’s Word. Under the covers, his light shines. After a little rest. God reminds you of his love, grace, and mercy.

He is your fortress and your strong tower. He’s the One who lifts your head off the pillow.
Because you followed your internal regimen of prayer and quiet time with him, you are ready for battle. You have regularly spent time with God, and that spiritual exercise gives you the strength to endure no matter what happens.
Get your daily spiritual workout. Open the Bible. Read. Talk to God. Simple, but so very powerful.
Prayer for Meditation
Jesus, I spend time with your today, exercising spiritually so I’m always prepared.
Scripture for Meditation
“Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8
