You lavish it on those who come to You for protection, blessing them before the watching world

It takes faith to come to God simply to be with Him. It proves, first of all, that we believe He exists. And that He is our greatest gift.
~~Florence Nightingale

This morning’s prayer and meditation for Sally’s healing comes from Take Heart, Oh God: Riches from the Greatest Christian Women Writers of All Time.
Sometimes we get to the end of a long day and flop exhausted into the nearest chair, only to find ourselves asking, “What did I really accomplish today?” Maybe our accomplishments were many, but we found no joy in them. Or perhaps of all the tasks we did, nothing seemed very valuable or worthwhile in the grand scheme of things.
Stormie Omartian suggests an action that will put every other thing we do into its proper perspective: Come to God simply to be with him.
In the fast pace of today’s world with its focus on achievement and financial success, we may lose sight of our greatest treasure—our relationship with our loving God. The best way to grow more deeply in love with him is to carve our time every day to be with him.
Simply bask in his goodness. He is your greatest gift.
Prayer for Meditation
It’s amazing—you want to spend time with me so there I am to worship you.
Scripture for Meditation
How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. Psalm 31:19
