Only he can prepare a heart to hear the message, only his Spirit can convict a wayward soul

This morning’s prayer and meditation for Sally’s healing comes from Take Heart, Oh God: Riches from the Greatest Christian Women Writers of All Time.

God is always at work. He never stops repairing, recovering and restoring his creation. He never takes a day off; never just decides to take a break. Imagine if he did! The planets would spin out of their orbits, the seas would overflow their boundaries, the stars would fall from the sky.

We need not worry God has it all under control. What a joy to know that he invites us to participate with him in sharing his story in this world. He doesn’t need us, but he invites us to join him in the work. And even that task is ultimately up to him—only he can prepare a heart to hear the message, only his Spirit can convict a wayward soul.

So don’t worry, dear one. Do your part; God will do his. Take him up on the invitation and leave the results to him.
