Lord, I want to choose your best for me. Show me the right way.

Beloved, whenever you are in doubt as to which way to turn, submit your judgment absolutely to the Spirit of God, asking Him to shut every door but the right one.

~~L. D. Cowman

This morning’s prayer and meditation for Sally’s healing comes from Take Heart, Oh God: Riches from the Greatest Christian Women Writers of All Time.
Life is filled with choices. Simple ones like the choice between chocolate or vanilla, and more complicated ones like whether to accept a new job or to take on that responsibility at church or to buy a car. Some choices are easy because we see clearly that one is better than the other, or even that one is right and one is wrong. But sometimes we’re choosing among several good options and we just don’t know what to do.
Like that old TV game show Let’s Make a Deal, selecting “door number one” instead of “door number two” seems daunting. But unlike a game show host, God isn’t trying to confuse or deceive you. He wants to show you the best choice for you. Submit your judgment absolutely to his Spirit, asking that he close every door but the right one.
Then the choice is easy.

Scripture for Meditation
Next Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had prevented them from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time. Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them to go there. So instead, they went on through Mysia to the seaport of Troas.

That night Paul had a vision: A man from Macedonia in northern Greece was standing there, pleading with him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!” So we decided to leave for Macedonia at once, having concluded that God was calling us to preach the Good News there. Acts 16:6-10

Thank you, Lord, for the “coincidences” that you put in place for me.

Your life is no exception to God’s delight in arranging coincidences.

~~Joni Eareckson Tada

This morning’s prayer and meditation for Sally’s healing comes from Take Heart, Oh God: Riches from the Greatest Christian Women Writers of All Time.
What a coincidence! Your car broke down right near the service station owned by your new friend’s husband—you know, the husband you’ve been praying for at Bible study. The one who is down on all Christians because he thinks they’re hypocrites.
What a coincidence! That answer to your concern came just at the right moment. You know, right before you gave up and gave in.
What a coincidence! You got the money just in time to pay the bill that would have been past due in another day.
What a coincidence! Really? Just a coincidence?
God takes great delight in arranging coincidences. You can be a witness to that friend’s husband as you bring in your broken-down car. Each “coincidence” is a touch of God, allowing you to sit back with a smile and see how much he cares.
It’s never just a coincidence. It’s God’s fingerprint.
Prayer for Meditation

Scripture for Meditation
You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do.

I’m feeling a little worn out, Father. I need you to revive me.

The One who created you, who formed you—body, soul, and spirit—is not only your creator, He is also your sustainer.
~~Kay Arthur

This morning’s prayer and meditation for Sally’s healing comes from Take Heart, Oh God: Riches from the Greatest Christian Women Writers of All Time.
God created you . . . take a moment to breathe in that very thought. You’re not an accident, not a chance of nature, not a result of evolutionary slime. No, you were expressly created. God chose every part of you, every physical and emotional detail, every gift and talent, and put the package together to be delivered into the world at a precise time in history, at a precise place, into a precise family.
But beyond that, he sustains you. He doesn’t leave you to fend for yourself. He wants to take those details, those gifts and talents—that whole package—and use it for his glory. He wants to keep you strong and vibrant. He wants to draw you ever closer to him, the source of life.
When you feel worn down, ask your Sustainer to refresh, revive, and renew you. It will be his pleasure.
Prayer for Meditation

Scripture for Meditation—Psalm 119:116-117
LORD, sustain me as you promised that I may live!
Do not let my hope be crushed.
Sustain me, and I will be rescued;
then I will meditate continually on your decrees.
